Last weekend, I decided to do a little research on which bugtracker I was going to use for the real beta of TRaceON. Well, the result was: I finally got my first RaMtiGA Webdesign. How come?
Well, I did find a nice bugtracker rather soon. Actually, I would have liked something I could integrated directly into my portal system, but there's currently no bugtracking modules out there, so I'm out of luck on that part. However, I did find BugTracker.NET which is a nice open source ASP.NET bugtracker. Funny enough, it's a bug tracker that one of my clients used a few years ago, so it's kind of familiar.
One thing that I really don't like about BugTracker.NET is the way it looks out of the box. So... well... to be honest: I didn't really like the looks of this site much, either. I used a design I created for one of my Blogs and that I'm currently also using on www.jashan-chittesh.de. Didn't really fit the theme of RaMtiGA.
So, Saturday morning, I started designing the design for this site. At last. I didn't really plan doing that right now, but I just felt now was the time. I also didn't plan to spend the whole weekend on that. And even less I planned to not even be fully finished with it by the end of the weekend. But hey: That's life... sometimes... isn't it?
So, anyways, at last I have this and I'm pretty happy with it. It's not the final version. I still have a few things here and there that I want to change. But the foundation has been layed out.
Well, one final funny little sidenote: I'm doing everything in English right now, but the site should also be available in German, which is my native language. Working on the design, I had the idea to not user "register" for when people register with the site, but instead, as you may have noticed, I'm now using "Join!". But I do have a problem: I can't translate that to German!!! Believe it or not, but I couldn't come up with anything as elegant and friendly as a simple "Join!". So, for now, I'm staying with "registrieren". If someone has a better idea - I'm open to that. But I think it's kind of difficult to hit exactly the right tone, and that's what I want... well, we'll see... for now, I'll simply enjoy my new design for this site... and keep on working on V0.88 of TRaceON :-)
